Biography: Lorraine Kalia is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurology at the University of Toronto and a Scientist in the Krembil Research Institute and Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases. She is also a Movement Disorders Neurologist in the Edmond J. Safra Program in Parkinson’s Disease & Morton and Gloria Shulman Movement Disorders Clinic at the Toronto Western Hospital. Her research program focuses on Parkinson's disease and related disorders with the goal of understanding the key molecular mechanisms responsible for neurodegeneration to develop novel therapies. Her research is currently funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Parkinson Canada, and Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation.
