Speaker: Dr. Martin Ingelsson

Dr. Martin Ingelsson is a Senior Scientist at the Krembil Brain Institute and a Geriatrician at University Health Network / Toronto Western Hospital. He is also a Professor at the Department of Medicine of the University of Toronto. The main aim of Dr. Ingelsson’s research is to increase our understanding of neurotoxic mechanisms in Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia and utilize this knowledge to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic applications for these disorders. His research thus has a translational character where immunotherapy and gene therapy approaches against pathogenic protein species are evaluated on cell and animal models for the respective disorders.
