The Dementia-Stroke Nexus: Stronger Cohorts, Better Trials, and Fewer Tribulations

Presenter: Dr. Aravind Ganesh

Biography: Aravind Ganesh is a PGY-5 neurology resident and incoming dementia and stroke fellow at the University of Calgary’s Department of Clinical Neurosciences. He completed his MD degree in 2012 at the University of Calgary and then entered neurology residency. He was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship in 2014 and completed a DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences under Professor Peter Rothwell at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Prevention of Stroke and Dementia. He earned an Associate Fellowship from the United Kingdom’s Higher Education Academy through his contributions as a Junior Dean and Clinical Teaching Associate at St John’s College (Oxford). Since returning to residency in Calgary in 2017, he has continued working on clinical research projects in dementia and stroke. He also serves on the editorial boards of Neurology, Neurology: Clinical Practice, and Stroke. His fellowship is funded by awards from CIHR and Alberta Innovates.
